For a long time, my goal has been to make sure every home and business in Ondo has the steady power they need to succeed. To make this dream a reality, I am proud to have facilitated a new partnership between the energy firm Lincs Power Energy Solutions and the Ondo State Government to build a 5-megawatt power plant right here in Ondo town.

Recently, we held the groundbreaking ceremony to officially start the construction phase. This project is not just a small fix; it is a major move to give Ondo West Local Government and the surrounding areas reliable electricity that stays on. In the future, we even plan to upgrade this capacity to 20 megawatts so that the entire state can enjoy the benefits of stable power.

A Partnership for Progress

I want to specially thank Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his encouragement and support of this project. His commitment to our community made it possible for us to move forward quickly with this initiative. During the ceremony, the Governor’s representative, Mr. Alabi Johnson, also thanked me for my efforts in bringing this project to life, but the real credit goes to the community for standing behind us.

Why we are doing this:

Helping our economy grow: When there is stable power, our small businesses, factory owners, and traders can work better and make more profit.

Better life for everyone: From our hospitals to our children studying at night, everyone’s life is improved when the lights are on.

Creating a smarter Ondo: This power plant is the foundation for a modern city where technology and industry can flourish.

This project is just the beginning of what we can achieve when we work together. I am excited to see the work begin and I look forward to the day very soon when this power plant starts serving every home in our local government.
