2003 – 2005

Olumbe’s journey began with a rigorous academic foundation, earning his law degree from the University of Lagos before being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. He initially practiced corporate and commercial law in Lagos, but his early career was defined by a stint at the Commonwealth Business Council in London and Cadbury Schweppes UK.

Transitioning from law to high technology, Olumbe was one of only three Nigerians selected for the prestigious Cisco Associate Programme in the Netherlands. Working alongside a diverse team from 44 countries, he qualified as a Cisco Certified Design Associate and rose through the ranks to become the Country Manager for Liberia. In his later role as Head of Strategic Accounts for Nigeria and Ghana, he implemented global sales tactics that modernized communication infrastructure for some of West Africa’s largest enterprises.

Transitioning from law to high technology, Olumbe was one of only three Nigerians selected for the prestigious Cisco Associate Programme in the Netherlands. Working alongside a diverse team from 44 countries, he qualified as a Cisco Certified Design Associate and rose through the ranks to become the Country Manager for Liberia. In his later role as Head of Strategic Accounts for Nigeria and Ghana, he implemented global sales tactics that modernized communication infrastructure for some of West Africa’s largest enterprises.

Continuing his ascent in the private sector, Olumbe joined Dell Technologies as a Senior Account Executive. Here, he focused on the Public Sector and Financial Services, managing large-scale infrastructure projects that required a deep understanding of both technical architecture and government policy. His success at Dell bridged the gap between cutting-edge innovation and the practical needs of Nigerian institutions.

2014 – 2017

Continuing his ascent in the private sector, Olumbe joined Dell Technologies as a Senior Account Executive. Here, he focused on the Public Sector and Financial Services, managing large-scale infrastructure projects that required a deep understanding of both technical architecture and government policy. His success at Dell bridged the gap between cutting-edge innovation and the practical needs of Nigerian institutions.

Returning Home: Senior Special Assistant on ICT

2025

In February 2017, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu appointed Olumbe as his Senior Special Assistant on ICT. This marked his transition from a global corporate executive to a public servant, fueled by a desire to scale his technical expertise for the benefit of his home state. During this initial year, he rebranded the Civic Data Centre and laid the institutional groundwork for what would become a digital revolution in Ondo.

In February 2017, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu appointed Olumbe as his Senior Special Assistant on ICT. This marked his transition from a global corporate executive to a public servant, fueled by a desire to scale his technical expertise for the benefit of his home state. During this initial year, he rebranded the Civic Data Centre and laid the institutional groundwork for what would become a digital revolution in Ondo.

Institutional Reform: Chairman of SITA

2018 – 2024

As Chairman of the Ondo State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Olumbe delivered a masterclass in governance. He led the implementation of an SAP ERP solution adjudged the best in West Africa. The results were unprecedented: Ondo’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) surged from N600 million to over N3 billion monthly. By connecting all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) through a high-speed metro fibre network, he transformed the state’s administrative engine into a lean, digital-first operation

Grassroots Architect: Digital Villages & Bagbe

2020 - 2023

Olumbe took technology to the grassroots through the Digital Village Project. By establishing containerized ICT labs in rural communities, he provided 24-hour power and internet access to those previously left behind, training over 2,000 citizens in coding, UI/UX, and digital marketing. His impact in Ondo City was equally tangible, ranging from facilitating a 5MW power project to the reconstruction of the Bagbe road and market. These projects proved that his vision for a "knowledge economy" was always paired with a commitment to improving the daily lives and livelihoods of his constituents.
